Varför gör sig en tidning till en plattform för kommunistisk propaganda? En förment borgerlig tidning till och med. I dagens SvD ger  Klas Andersson luft åt sin längtan efter ett samhälle där Skattemyndigheten är ute på byggarbetsplatserna och kontrollerar att alla har sina papper i ordning. Som krydda skall byggarbetarna in- och utcheckning på arbetsplatsen också kunna läsas av myndigheter (och, får man förmoda, facket om Klas skall bli riktigt nöjd):

Det behövs helt enkelt mer kontroller så att personal på arbetsplatsen inte är svartjobbare. … Skatteverket ska få göra oannonserade kontroller på en byggarbetsplats. … Det bör också finnas en loggbok där de som arbetar loggar in och ut och därmed tydligt redovisar sin närvaro.

Nice. Inget 1984 över det alls…

Artikeln är avsedd att göra oss läsare upprörda över att byggbranschen “passar på” att höja sina priser nu när “staten står för halva kostnaden”. Man kan inte förvänta sig att en kommunist förstår sig på sambandet mellan tillgång och efterfrågan. Ej heller att när staten låter oss behålla en lite större del av våra egna pengar kan det inte översättas med att “staten betalar”. Vägra köpa etablissemangets nyspråk! Det är det enda motvapen vi har, men det är ett kraftfullt vapen. Använd det.

How high are the Swedish taxes?

The best Facebook page ever

In this Facebook conversation hosted by the most excellent Facebook page ever, Capitalism, the question is raised how heavy the tax burden in Sweden actually is. Hey, I’m a Swede! I should be able to answer that! Or, maybe, I can’t. This is my “answer” so far:

We have so many taxes in Sweden that it’s hard to figure out how much tax the government forces off of us. That’s by design I guess. For the income tax we have “Progressive” taxing. Meaning that above a certain level of income you are forced to “pay” a higher percentage in tax. I think this maxes out at just under 60%. But then there’s another income tax that they call “employer tax” that amounts to 33% of the salary, taken before you robbed of those 60%… Then we pay high VAT taxes (25%) on everything you buy. And then there are lots and lots of other taxes…  80% sounds like a good guess.
Another way to look at it is how much of the GDP that is government spending. According the The Heritage Organization that figure is 53% for Sweden: http://www.heritage.org/index/Country/Sweden#government-spending But I wonder if the spending of more local authorities are included there.

The Federal Reserve is getting ready to meet next week and announce massive quantitative easing. On July 19th, with everybody in the mainstream media talking about the threat of deflation, NIA said, “this is the calm before the storm…the Federal Reserve is quietly getting ready to implement ‘The Mother of All Quantitative Easing’.”

In all three of NIA’s previous documentaries, we strongly urged Americans to invest in gold, silver, and agricultural commodities. Om liberalism

Min version av liberalism baserar sig på ett frihetsbegrepp från “klassisk” liberalism och naturrättsfilosfi. Ungefär så här:

Varje människa äger exklusiv rätt till sitt liv, sin kropp och sin egendom. Ingen människa har rätt att tvinga en annan människa till något. Ingen kan ge en annan människa rättigheter som man själv inte har.

Nu vet ni det. =)

Amerikanska “Liberals” och svenska socialliberaler befinner sig väldigt långt bort från detta. De hävdar att ändamålet helgar medlen och är blixtsnabba att offra individuell frihet för andra värden. Jan Björklund är ett typexempel på var man kan hamna. Det är helt väsenskilt från liberalism som, per definition, sätter frihet före allt annat.

Liberalismen säger till exempel inte att solidaritet inte är värdefullt, men den säger att individuell frihet är värdefull_are_. Välj godtyckligt annat värde och svaret blir detsamma. Trygghet? Jo, värt att eftersträva, men aldrig, aldrig på bekostnad av individuell frihet.
